Exploring San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo is a charming town filled with beautiful historical places surrounded by incredible volcanic mountain peaks, sandy beaches, vineyards, this California Central Coast town is a perfect getaway.

Located just 4 hours from San Francisco by car or train it’s easy and convinient to get to. We visited San Luis Obispo during their Sip Stay & Save harvest promotion and lodged at the SLO Brew Lofts conveniently located in the heart of downtown.

We headed out to Edna Valley by Uber and visited 3 beautiful wineries; Malene Wines, has wonderful rose perfect for those summer picnics. Saucelito Canyon Vineyard specializes in Zinfandels that date back to 1880, Biddle Ranch is a beautiful property with a variety of wines to choose from.

After a day well spent wine tasting we headed to Mistura a modern Peruvian restaurant that is outstanding! the presentation, the ingredients, the taste, the ambience, the chef, it was all divine! and our absolute favorite place to dine. We tried all the traditional dishes and loved the Cebiche Clasico, Pulpo and Lomo Saltado.

The best part about visiting San Luis Obispo is that it’s walkable and slow paced which will force you to enjoy more of those tranquil moments. There’s still so much more to see and do in SLO, so if you’re visiting make sure you also take a day trip to Hearst Castle, Avila Beach and Pismo Beach.
